Routing Technique to Minimize Power Consumption in Ad-Hoc Networks
In the present work, we deal with Energy Saving in Ad-hoc Network, in OLSR protocol. Our contributions belong to two main research areas on Energy saving affair: In our first approach we focused on energy saving issue for OLSR protocol (Optimized Link State Routing Protocol). The proposed GMPR (Green Multipoint Relay) algorithm is taken as re-formulating MPR, which is NP-complete in to a simple one inspiring from the Energy Saving concept. We developed a heuristic method allowing OLSR to find the router(s) which can be switched off during low traffic and idle times. The second approach is to minimize energy consumption for MPR nodes in OLSR protocols by taking into account Ant Colony Optimization Based Energy Saving Routing.
