Titre / Title: Calcul de Similarité pour la comparaison des Séquences d'Acides Aminés : une Solution VLSI
Abstract : Genome alignment is an important task in molecular biology. The execution time of such alignment is increasing since the genome database is growing fast. Nowadays prohibitive times have been achieved, up to hundreds of days, using common software tools. Hardware devices is a solution to speed up genetic sequence comparisons. This paper presents a parallel and systolic hardware architecture that can speed up Needleman and Wunsch, and Smith and Waterman algorithms.
