Titre / Title: APPLICATION OF NEURAL NETWORKS TO LONG TERM PREDICTION OF QUEUE LENGTH AT AN URBAN TRAFFIC JUNCTION
Abstract : Our current research focuses on the integration of neural network prediction techniques into an adaptive real time urban traffic control system. The conventional techniques applied within the traffic community are model based techniques, originating from complex hydrodynamic and particles theories. Neural networks can be considered here as a competitive way of achieving traffic flow models. They are introduced here to predict the queue length of vehicles, on a signalized urban link.
