Titre / Title: Knowledge Acquisition as Constructive Modelling
Abstract : Model-driven knowledge acquisition is now a common view. KADS-based VITAL methodology emphasizes on knowledge acquisition as constructive modelling. We advocate the break off with the transfer approach and justify the modelling approach. In this framework, the Generalised Directive Models' approach that we recall, has been a first attempt to provide a context sensitive use of the models. We are here mainly concerned either by the double problem of model's selection and refinement and by the problem of knowledge elicitation , which is sometimes the blind point of model driven knowledge acquisition. We present some improvements of the GDM' approach. Our approach to model-driven knowledge acquisition considers it as a combined and recurrent process of model's refinement and knowledge elicitation. Our conclusion of the first paper emphasizes on some relationships between our approach to knowledge acquisition and some statements of the systems' science approach.
In the second paper, we show the possible use of the GDM's approach to construct a model of the problem solving method cover & differentiate.
